According to The Express, Inter Milan defender Nemanja Vidic could be offered to MLS side DC United.

The Serbian defender has failed to settle in at Inter Milan since leaving Manchester United after almost seven seasons with the English giants.

He played in just 23 Serie A matches last season and has not featured in any of Inter Milan’s games so far this campaign.

Italian publication Calciomercato claim Inter owner, Erick Thohir, who also holds a stake in DC United, will allow Vidic to join the American side in the MLS.

Now 33-years-old, Vidic has passed his best. He was one of the world’s best defender when he was at Manchester United, playing over 300 games under Sir Alex Ferguson and then David Moyes for one season.

However, his prime passed him by and he was moved on to Inter Milan last season by Van Gaal, finishing 8th with Inter last season, meaning they failed to qualify for a European position.

Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has already signed a plethora of defenders this summer, including Alex Telles, Joao Miranda and Martin Montoya. Vidic’s game time is now looking very minimal for this season and a move to the MLS could have come at the right time.

He would be another big name added to the MLS in recent seasons, however, Vidic would be unlikely to ever get back to his Manchester United day’s and will be a bit-part player for DC United if he were to join.
