Gabriel Farfan joins NY Cosmos on loan
NASL side NY Cosmos have signed former Chivas USA and Philadelphia midfielder Gabriel Farfan on loan from Liga MX side Chiapas FC, the club announced on Friday.
Farfan, 27, started his professional career with Orange County Blue Star and went on to have spells with the Philadelphia Union and Chivas USA in the MLS. Internationally, Farfan represented only the USA Under-17 side from 2002 until 2005.
After Chivas USA dissolved in 2014, Farfan was a free agent, and was snapped up by Liga MX side Chiapas FC. He made 11 appearances in total for the club and now, has joined NY Cosmos on loan.
Cosmos Head Coach and Sporting Director Giovanni Savarese said this on Farfan’s arrival:
He is a versatile player that can compete in many different positions for us. He brings with him valuable experience having played in North America and at the top level in Mexico. We welcome him to the club

Farfan explained his excitement in joining the club:
